KARA’s Park Gyuri and soccer player Ki Sung Yong are close friends.
On the 19th, Park appeared on MBC’s Radio Star and called Ki to prove that KARA and he are friends.
As soon as Ki answered the phone he started saying something private which puzzled Park. He said, “Yesterday…” and Park stopped Ki quickly.
MCs for the show asked him, “What were you going to say? What did you do last night?” Ki replied, “I downloaded Inkigayo where KARA appeared.” Ki added, “Park and I are close friends.”
The show drew a lot of attention when announcer Choi Il Goo used a popular online term at the beginning of the show.

KARA’s Park Gyuri is now appearing in the musical 200 Pounds Beauty in Japan.
On the 12th, according to KARA’s agency DSP Media, tickets for Park’s musical sold out three times in a row.
Park plays the role of a two hundred pound girl who becomes a perfect beauty.
Many Japanese men and women of all ages came to see the musical and gave a thunderous round of applause.
Park said, “I’m very happy that many Japanese fans are supporting me. But I sill need to learn a lot of things. I will do my best to become better and better.”
KARA will released their fifth Japanese single Winter Magic on the 19th.
Park’s musical will go on an Asian tour, including, Japan, Korea, and many Asian countries.”

KARA’s Park Gyuri recently weighed two hundred pounds.
According to Japanese outlets, Park played the role of the lead actress in the musical 200 Pounds Beauty, which raised its curtain on the 8th in Japan.
On the stage, Park transformed into a two hundred pound girl, who becomes a perfect beauty later.
This is the first time Park has appeared in the musical. Therefore, she worked hard to prepare for the musical even while she was busy in Korea with the group’s album.
The musical is expected to earn about 5.3 billion won just with ticket sales. Since KARA is very popular in Japan, the musical received a lot of attention.
The musical will continue until November 16 and it will be performed in Korea and other Asian countries, including China in December.

KARA’s Gyuri cries as she wraps up her final episode of ‘Shimshimtapa’ 0

On October 3rd, KARA‘s Gyuri officially wrapped up her DJ-ing activities on MBC FM‘s ‘Shimshimtapa‘.

Her overseas schedules with KARA led to a lot of absences, leading Gyuri to personally make the decision to depart from the show. Although it was her decision, she couldn’t hold back her tears as she wrapped up her final episode after a year and five months.

Gyuri stated, “Being a DJ is a precious position that I could never replace with anything else in my life. On my final day, all of our PDs, writers, and fixed guests all came together, which I heard was something that rarely happens. Thank you so much for always being there for me.”

She continued, “This radio show means more to me than just work. I think every morning, I’ll feel empty and out of place when I’m not in the radio booth like I’m meant to be. It will be hard to escape that feeling. If I receive another such opportunity, I’d love to return as a DJ. My dream is to work as a DJ for a long, long time, for over 20 years, and hopefully one day receive the Golden Mouth award.” 

Gyuri will be starting her ‘200 Pound Beauty‘ musical in Osaka, Japan from October 8th.

Park Gyuri of Kara will no longer work as a DJ of Sim Sim Tapa! 0

On the 26th, a representative of Kara revealed, “Park Gyuri will no longer work as a DJ after one year and five months. She was attached to this job, but decided to stop working due to hectic schedules abroad.”

Park has a musical, Beautiful Girl, to perform in Japan and also has to promote their albums abroad.

Park attracted much attention as she worked as a DJ with MC Shindong. The replacement for Park hasn’t been decided yet. Therefore Shindong will emcee Sim Sim Tapa by himself.

Currently, Kara is performing in Korea with “Step” of their 3rd album.  The song ranked first place on SBS’s Inkigayo, Mnet’s M! Countdown, and KBS 2TV’s Music Bank.

Kara’s Goo Hara makes Park Gyuri happy by raving over her good looks 0

On the September 26 episode of KBS’s talk show Hello, when asked if who was the prettiest of the members, Goo Hara was pointed out. Park Gyuri, largely called “Goddess,” made a bitter expression on her face.  

Sensing her feelings, Goo Hara raved over Park’s good looks by saying, “When I first saw Gyuri, I was very impressed by her exotic, well-formed facial features. I thought she was amazingly beautiful.”

At the moment, Shin Dong Yeob, one of the emcees, evoked big laughs by saying, “I know what kind of face Park makes when she received honorable mention. She gives the happiest look.”
