Secret Reunion (also known as Brothers or Blood Brothers) is the highest Korean grossing film in 2010 to date. The story follows Song Kang-ho as Agent Lee Han-gyu of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) who falls from grace after failing to stop the assassination of a North Korean dissonant. The sleeper cell responsible includes relative newcomer Ji-won played by Kang Dong-won, who gets marked as a traitor when the mission goes south. Six years later both men are working different jobs when they bump into each other and quickly form a bond. This is the second film by directer Jang Hun after completing Rough Cut two years prior. Plot
Ji-won and another rookie agent meet with a seasoned killer who takes Ji-won but not the other rookie on the next assignment; the assassination of Kim Jung-Il's second cousin, who wrote a book the North disapproved of. They enter the residence and kill everyone they find. However Ji-won has trouble and is unable to kill the victim's wife and protects their son. This puts him in trouble with the leader of the cell.
Lee Han-gyu is a bumbling yet dedicated agent of the National Intelligence Service who tries to foil the hit. Despite having insider information, he arrives only after the family has been murdered. His men however are able to quickly take pictures of all the residents fleeing the apartment including Ji-won who blends in with the crowd.
Due to the botched work by both Han-gyu and Ji-won, their government disown both of them and they go to live separate lives. Lee is now a private investigator who locates runaway mail order brides and Ji-won works construction. Six years pass and Lee gets saved from a mob by Ji-won. Ji-won is repaid by getting shared housing by Han-gyu. Both men recognize the other and pretend not to, each hoping to use the other to redeem themselves and return to their previous lives

Secret Reunion will definitely be one of this years biggest films at the festival, one because it looks so damn good and two because it stars Sang Kang-ho, who is good in every film he's in and is one of Korea's most popular actors both home and abroad. Expect tickets to go fast for this one.
