SM Entertainment, SNSD’s agency, announced on October 12 that SNSD would reveal its album in the US in partnership with Universal Music Group, one of the global record companies.
According to the agency, SNSD’s maxi single The Boys will be produced in November in the US by Interscope Records, an affiliate of the US Universal Music Group, in which big-name celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Eminem and Black Eyed Peas are involved.
Since they debuted in Korea four years ago, SNSD has kept on going forward, extending their activities out to the world, first to Japan and currently up to the US, the largest music market in the world.
SM says, “We made a deal with Universal Music to produce “The Boys” in the global regions including the US, South America and even Europe.
To heighten the effect of its promotional strategy by simultaneously producing the album in the world, SNSD put off the release of its third regular album The Boys in Korea. The album will be unveiled on October 19, along with its music video.
On October 21, SNSD will first display the performance with “The Boys” via Music Bank, KBS’s popular music show.
